COLORADO students forced to recite Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic. One nation under Allah?

ftc 1A Colorado high school principal is defending his decision to allow students from a multicultural club to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic — and denied that it was attempt to push an Islamic agenda. Tom Lopez, the principal at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, says he has received a number of telephone calls and emails from outraged parents – but he stands by his decision.

FOX NEWS (h/t RevereRidesAgain) “These students love this country,” he said. “They were not being un-American in trying to do this. They believed they were accentuating the meaning of the words as spoken regularly in English.”

ftc 2The school recites the Pledge of Allegiance once a week and on Monday a member of the Cultural Arms Club led the student body in the Arabic version of the pledge. The club seeks to “destroy the barriers, embrace the cultures” that exist within the high school.

Club members said they don’t understand why there’s a controversy. “No matter what language it’s said in, pledging your allegiance to the United States is the same in every language,” student Skyler Bowden told The Coloradoan.

Romney 2012

But an Arabic translation of the Pledge of Allegiance would have replaced “one nation under God” with “one nation under Allah.”

ftc 4“Obviously in Arabic, you would use the word Allah, but Christian Arabs would use the word Allah,” said Ibrahim “Uncle Dougie” Hooper, of terror-linked CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations). “It’s not necessarily specific to Islam and Muslims.”

Clark said she did not hear the pledge and does not speak Arabic so she could not confirm exactly what words were used.

Some local residents said the pledge should be recited in English. Others wondered if there was another reason involved. “This is no longer about language,” wrote one reader in a letter to the local newspaper. “This is about targeting a group you know will object, intentionally stirring them up under the guise of your opinions on multiculturalism and subjecting your school and community to a divisive issue for absolutely no gain.”

ftc 5

Lopez said he’s been getting bombarded by all sorts of accusations – one critic even labeled him a traitor. “They claim they are outraged that this is blaspheming a real major tenet of our patriotism – which in their mind the Pledge of Allegiance is only in English,” he said.

He’s also been accused of “pushing a Muslim Brotherhood agenda – to push Islam into the school.” That’s a claim that Lopez denied. Hooper told Fox News he was dumbfounded by complaints about the Arabic version of the pledge. (Obviously people in Colorado are reading BNI! LOL)

“How on earth is it un-American to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in another language,” Hooper asked. “It doesn’t make sense unless the people complaining are anti-Muslim or anti-middle eastern bigots.” (Nope, not all Middle Easterners, just Muslims) Hooper suggested the students could use the incident as a learning “opportunity that there is real intolerance and bigotry out there.” (STFU Dougie, you Hamas proxy)

ftc 6

Principal Lopez said he was getting “worn down” by the complaints and the sense of “hate” among some of the critics. “I’ve been shocked with prejudicial statements that have been made,” he said. ” I’ve been shocked with the lack of seeking understanding. There’s definitely suspicion and fear expressed in these people’s minds. There’s some hate.” (Wanna really be shocked moron? Read a Qur’an, and see where the real hate is coming from)

“As a veteran and a friend of a man killed defending these children in their little games they like to play with our pledge, I’m offended,” wrote Chris Wells. “There are things that we don’t mess with – among them are the pledge and our anthem.” “If they wish to adapt the country as their own, then they need to learn the language and start speaking it as their first language,” wrote another reader.

[Editor's Note: You know the drill...this is my opinion and not necessarily that of local Act chapters nor the National Act office...the biggest problem in America is the fact that no one reads, learns, nor understands the dualism of political Islam. Islam is so whitewashed, that American are falling for it hook, line and sinker. And I really mean sinker, because of the Trojan horse dictator in chief, that is practicing his dictator abilities, while pushing Islam on America, because Americans did not/do not do what John Adams and Thomas Jefferson insisted on in 1786 and during their presidencies..."read the Qur'an so you can know your enemies"...Americans, by and large, just take what the evil Muslim Brotherhood says (ignores its actions, like creating Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group that attacked America, was good buddies with Osama bin Laden, ect) the Americans just listen to king Obama and ignore the enemy within the US. Now our youth are being indoctrinated...its just a matter of time when America succumbs to Islam, and ALL our freedoms will be taken away.]

Muslim Brotherhood group to ‘connect all U.S. schools’

by Aaron Klein

morsiJERUSALEM – A Muslim Brotherhood-linked organization has partnered with the U.S. Department of Education and the State Department to facilitate an online program aiming to connect all U.S. schools with classrooms abroad by 2016.

Vartan Gregorian, a board member of the organization, the Qatar Foundation International, was appointed in 2009 to President Obama’s White House Fellowships Commission.

WND previously exposed that Gregorian served as a point man in granting $49.2 million in startup capital to an education-reform project founded by former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers and chaired by Obama.

Documentation shows Gregorian was central in Ayers’ recruitment of Obama to serve as the first chairman of the project, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge – a job in which Obama worked closely on a regular basis with Ayers.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration of Washington is exposed in “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America”

Obama also later said his job at the project qualified him to run for public office, as WND previously reported.

Connecting schools to fulfill Obama pledge

The Qatar Foundation International, or QFI, in 2011 partnered with the Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to facilitate matchmaking between classrooms in the U.S. and international schools through something called the “Connect All Schools” project.

QFI, funded by the Qatari government, explains on its website the initiative was founded in response to Obama’s call in his June 2009 speech to the Arab world in Cairo, Egypt, to “create a new online network, so a young person in Kansas can communicate instantly with a young person in Cairo.”

QFI relates how more than 100 U.S. schools and organizations have already connected on the interactive website.

The stated goal of the initiative is to “connect every school in the U.S. with the world by 2016.”

This is not the QFI’s first foray into the U.S. education system.

WND reported last May the Qatar-based foundation awarded “Curriculum Grants” to seven U.S. schools and language organizations to “develop comprehensive and innovative curricula and teaching materials to be used in any Arabic language classroom.”

QFI, based in Washington, D.C., is the U.S. branch of the Qatar Foundation, founded in 1995 by Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Thani is still the group’s vice-chairman, while one of his three wives, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairs the organization’s board.

Thani also launched Al Jazeera in 1996 and served as the television network’s chairman.

The Qatar foundation is close to the Muslim Brotherhood.

In January 2012, it launched the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics under the guidance of Tariq Ramadan, who serves as the center’s director.

Ramadan is the grandson of the notorious founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al Banna. Ramadan was banned from the U.S. until 2010 when the Obama administration issued him a visa to give a lecture at a New York school.

QFI, meanwhile, named several institutions after Yusuf al-Qaradawi, one of the top leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. Many regard Qaradawi as the de facto spiritual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

The foundation instituted the Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi Scholarships and in 2009 established a research center named the Qaradawi Center for Islamic Moderation and Renewal.

Qaradawi has personally attended scores of foundation events, including conferences at which he served as a keynote speaker.

Qaradawi achieved star status because of his regular sermons and interviews on Al Jazeera.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism documents Qardawi openly permitted the killing of American troops in Iraq and praised the “heroic deeds” of “Hamas, Jihad, Al-Aqsa Brigades and others.”

Obama, Ayers connection

Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corp. charitable foundation, was appointed by Obama in 2009 as a White House fellow. Born in Tabriz, Iran, Gregorian served for eight years as president of the New York Public Library and was also president of Brown University.

As Brown president, Gregorian served on the selection committee of the Annenberg Foundation, which funded Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge with a $49.2 million, 2-to-1 matching challenge grant over five years. Ayers was one of five founding members of the Annenberg Challenge who wrote to the Annenberg Foundation for the initial funding.

Steve Diamond, a political-science and law professor and a blogger who has posted on Obama, previously posted a letter from Nov. 18, 1994, in which Gregorian, serving as the point man on Annenberg’s selection committee, asked Ayers to “compose the governing board” of the Challenge’s collaborative project with “people who reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of Chicago.”

Ayers and other founding Challenge members then recruited Obama to serve as the project chairman.

WND was first to expose that Obama and Ayers used the project grant money to fund organizations run by radicals tied to Ayers, including Mike Klonsky, a former top communist activist who was a senior leader in the Students for a Democratic Society group, a major leftist student organization in the 1960s from which the Weathermen terror group later splintered.

National Review Online writer Stanley Kurtz examined the project archives housed at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, finding Obama and Ayers worked closely at the project.

The documents obtained by Kurtz showed Ayers served as an ex-officio member of the board that Obama chaired through the project’s first year. Ayers also served on the board’s governance committee with Obama and worked with him to craft project bylaws, according to the documents.

Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Obama. Ayers also spoke for the Chicago School Reform Collaborative before Obama’s board, while Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the collaborative, the project documents reviewed by Kurtz show.

WND reported Obama and Ayers also served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a liberal Chicago nonprofit that granted money to far-left causes.

One of the groups funded by the Woods Fund was the Midwest Academy, an activist organization modeled after Marxist community organizer Saul Alinsky described as teaching tactics of direct action, confrontation and intimidation.

WND reported Jackie Kendall, executive director of the Midwest Academy, was on the team that developed and delivered the first Camp Obama training for volunteers aiding Obama’s campaign through the 2008 Iowa Caucuses.

Camp Obama was a two- to four-day intensive course run in conjunction with Obama’s campaign aimed at training volunteers to become activists to help Obama win the presidential election.

Obama scholar linked to ‘Ground Zero’ imam

Meanwhile, WND reported Gregorian is closely tied to the Muslim leaders behind the controversial Islamic cultural center to be built near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Gregorian also serves on the board of the Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum. The museum is reportedly working with the American Society for Muslim Advancement, whose leaders are behind the mosque, to ensure the future museum will represent the voices of American Muslims.

“[The Sept. 11 museum will represent the] voices of American Muslims in particular, and it will honor members of other communities who came together in support and collaboration with the Muslim community on September 11 and its aftermath,” stated Daisy Khan, executive director of the society.

The Sept. 11 museum’s oral historian, Jenny Pachucki, is collaborating with the society to ensure the perspective of American Muslims is woven into the overall experience of the museum, according to the museum’s blog.

Khan’s husband, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is the founder of the society as well as chairman of Cordoba Initiative, which is behind the proposed mosque to be built about two blocks from the area referred to as Ground Zero.

With Gregorian at its helm, Carnegie Corp. is at the top of the list of society supporters on the Islamic group’s website.

Carnegie is also listed as a funder of both of the society’s partner organizations, Search for Common Ground and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Gregorian was a participant in the U.N. body’s first forum, as was Rauf.

Rauf is vice chairman on the board of the Interfaith Center of New York, which honored Gregorian at an awards dinner in 2008.

World domination

Gregorian is the author of “Islam: A Mosaic, Not A Monolith.” According to a book review by the Middle East Forum, his book “establishes the Islamist goal of world domination.”

A chapter of the book, “Islamism: Liberation Politics,” quotes Ayatollah Khomeini: “Islam does not conquer. Islam wants all countries to become Muslim, of themselves.” Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, is quoted stating it “is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its laws on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”

Gregorian himself recommends for Muslims a system he calls “theo-democracy,” which he defines as “a divine democratic government” that, according to the book review, “would have a limited popular sovereignty under the suzerainty of Allah.”

What Goes on in a Mosque – Evidence from America

By Lawman • on June 7, 2011

Do you want a mosque near you? You may say you don’t mind, so long as it isn’t run by the small minority of extremists.

If so, think again.

Please subscribe to Middle East Quarterly for a copy of the report “Sharia and Violence in American Mosques“, by Mordechai Kedar and David Yerushalmi. Its surgical logic is matched by its unflinching conclusions.

The study is relevant to British people because Islamic integration is assumed to work better in America than in Europe.

Messrs Kedar and Yerushalmi ask two basic questions: first, whether there is a link between sharia-adherent behavior in American mosques and the making available of books and videos sanctioning violence; and second, whether there is a link between violent materials in a mosque and that mosque’s leaders advocating violent or supremacist behavior?

The researchers appear to have been sampled cautiously and impartially. Data came from a random, representative sample of 100 US mosques in 14 states, plus the District of Columbia:

A surveyor visited a subject mosque in order: (a) to observe and record 12 Sharia-adherent behaviors of the worshipers and the imam (or lay leader); (b) to observe whether the mosque contained the selected materials rated as moderate and severe; (c) to observe whether the mosque contained materials promoting, praising, or supporting violence or violent jihad; and (d) to observe whether the mosque contained materials indicating the mosque had invited guest speakers known to have promoted violent jihad.

The Sharia-adherent behaviour was selected for its significance according to “Reliance of the Traveller”, “Fiqh as-Sunna”, and other standard – if unsavory – sharia discourses:

Among the behaviors observed at the mosques and scored as Shari’a-adherent were: (a) women wearing the hijab (head covering) or niqab (full-length shift covering the entire female form except for the eyes); (b) gender segregation during mosque prayers; and (c) enforcement of straight prayer lines. Behaviors that were not scored as Shari’a-adherent included: (a) women wearing just a modern hijab, a scarf-like covering that does not cover all of the hair, or no covering; (b) men and women praying together in the same room; and (c) no enforcement by the imam, lay leader, or worshipers of straight prayer lines.

Violent materials – mainly books and videos – were divided into ‘moderate’ and ‘severe’.

The moderate-rated literature was authored by respected Shari’a religious and/or legal authorities; while expressing positive attitudes toward violence, it was predominantly concerned with the more mundane aspects of religious worship and ritual. The severe material, by contrast, largely consists of relatively recent texts written by ideologues, rather than Shari’a scholars, such as Abul Ala Mawdudi and Sayyid Qutb. These, as well as materials published and disseminated by the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, are primarily, if not exclusively, aimed at using Islam to advance a violent political agenda.

This choice of materials seem to have been chosen because they “are not Islamic legal texts per se but rather are polemical works seeking to advance a politicized Islam through violence, if necessary. Nor are these authors recognized Shari’a scholars.”

The results of the survey were unambiguous: most mosques offered pro-violence materials, but the mosques most likely to do so were the ones encouraging sharia-adherent behavior.

The survey’s findings, explored in depth below, were that 51 percent of mosques had texts that either advocated the use of violence in the pursuit of a Shari’a-based political order or advocated violent jihad as a duty that should be of paramount importance to a Muslim; 30 percent had only texts that were moderately supportive of violence like the Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Fiqh as-Sunna; 19 percent had no violent texts at all.

The study found a statistically significant association between the severity of violence-positive texts on mosque premises and Shari’a-adherent behaviors.

In addition mosques containing severe material were likely actively to encourage terrorism and the funding of it:

The survey found a strong correlation between the presence of severe violence-promoting literature and mosques featuring written, audio, and video materials that actually promoted such acts. By promotion of jihad, the study included literature encouraging worshipers to engage in terrorist activity, to provide financial support to jihadists, and to promote the establishment of a caliphate in the United States. These materials also explicitly praised acts of terror against the West; praised symbols or role models of violent jihad; promoted the use of force, terror, war, and violence to implement the Sharia; emphasized the inferiority of non-Muslim life; promoted hatred and intolerance toward non-Muslims or notional Muslims; and endorsed inflammatory materials with anti-U.S. views… [O]f the 51 mosques that contained severe materials, 100 percent were led by imams who recommended that worshipers study texts that promote violence.

And there doesn’t seem to be much difference between moderate and severe mosques when it comes to violence against the infidel.

[M]osques containing violence positive materials were substantially more likely to include materials promoting financial support of terror than mosques that did not contain such texts. A disturbing 98 percent of mosques with severe texts included materials promoting financial support of terror. Those with only moderate rated materials on site were not markedly different, with 97 percent providing such materials.

These results were comparable when using other indicators of jihad promotion. Thus, 98 percent of mosques that contained severe-rated literature included materials promoting establishing an Islamic caliphate in the United States as did 97 percent of mosques containing only moderate rated materials.

Remember this if you thought that you would only be concerned about a mosque in your neighborhood if it was run by members of the small minority of  unrepresentative extremists. The moderate mosque may not attract violence, but it’s just as likely to encourage it.

Depressing stuff. But what makes the picture even worse is the number of people coming to hardline mosques compared to moderate ones:

Mosques that contained written materials in the severe category were the best attended, followed by those with only moderate-rated materials, trailed in turn by those lacking such texts. Mosques with severe materials had a mean attendance of 118 worshipers while mosques containing only moderate materials had a mean attendance of 60 worshipers; mosques that contained no violence-positive literature had a mean attendance of 15 worshipers.

Read that last paragraph again. Do the arithmetic. Nearly three quarters of mosque-goers attend ‘severe’ (offering modern materials with a violent political axe to grind) mosques; just over one fifth go to moderate (predominantly worship and ritual with some positive attitudes towards violence) mosques; and 3.5%, or one in thirty, go to mosques with no violent materials in them.

CBSnews.com reported on December 5, 2007 that the Hamtramck Michigan City Council City was “expected Tuesday to pass a noise ordinance amendment that would permit mosques to issue the traditional Islamic call to prayer over loudspeakers.  But some longtime residents are resisting what they consider an affront to non-Muslims.  Long known for pierogi and polka, the bustling city of Hamtramck, Mich., is now debating whether to add an amplified Arabic chant to the local sights and sounds.”

I’m so glad you are trying to warn people!”  Kathy W. told Florida Family Association in an email.  “I live in Michigan, so I have heard so much about the Muslims in Dearborn. In Hamtramck, they got permission to sound their call to prayer over LOUDSPEAKERS several times a day. But they complained about church bells ringing, even when it was just on the hour. These people don’t want to be Americans. They want to conquer America! So many people have their heads buried in the sand when it comes to this topic.” Kathy W. September 20, 2011.

[Editor’s Note: My understanding is that, in conjunction to the Muslim Brotherhood’s Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal of the Group (the document where the MB plans on taking over America internally, and changing it to an Islamic country, with the help of their Trojan horse in the White House), Michigan is the first state they will work on to make it an Islamic state…and so far, it is working out well for the enemy. Non-Muslims get to hear the cursed chant/prayers 5 times a day in the city of Hamtramck, about 20 miles southwest of Dearborn, Michigan. When I was stationed in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Egypt for about six months each, it was very annoying to hear that, and now Americans get to hear that on a daily basis. So, Michigan is possibly the first state in the MB takeover; you can see the evidence that foreign law and beliefs are taking over America in general, thank you very much oh “Son of the West”! Wonder how many times our Christian, Founding Fathers turned in the graves with the traitorous, Muslim president and his Shari’a advocate cronies in office…and, to me, a big problem is also the discrimination...churches aren't allowed to ring their bells because it upsets the Muslims, but Muslims are allowed to force feed the entire city with it's satanic prayers...go figure.]

SICKENING: The Muslim-in-Chief turns West Point Cadets into submissive ‘dhimmis’

Posted: April 29, 2012 | Author: barenakedislam

No more training future soldiers about who the enemy is and why they want to kill us. Now, West Point cadets visit a NJ city with a large enemy Muslim population to witness the cultural diversity they will encounter overseas. (In other words, to brainwash them into believing that the so-called culture of 7th Century savages is just as good as ours)

Washington Post(H/T Robin H) The men and women in crisp U.S. military uniforms walked in close formation through the bustling, traffic-choked streets, passing women in full Muslim hijab, sari-clad Indian mothers pushing strollers, worshipers heading to an Egyptian Coptic church, and small shops with signs in Arabic, Hindi, Korean and a dozen other languages. (But notice in the photo below, female academy cadets are wearing Muslim headbags, no Indian saris or Korean attire. And in the photos and videos below, they only show the cadets at Islamic centers where the speakers are all Muslims)

The cadets are visiting as part of a class at West Point on peacekeeping and reconstruction called “Winning the Peace.” The class ends in a three-day crash course designed to make the future officers _ and, ultimately, the soldiers under their command _ more sensitive to cultural differences.

Senior Megan Kelty (L) and junior Jordan Reilly (2nd L), wear headbags out of dhimmi submission, as they sit with other cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., during a presentation at the Islamic Center of Jersey City

7th-21st century. The notion of Dhimmitude, originating in the 7th century, still applies today to non-Muslims under Islamic rule—whether Jews or Christians, whether in Saudi Arabia or in Sudan. Dhimmitude began in 628 CE when Mohammed and his forces conquered the Jewish oasis at Khaybar. They massacred many of the Jews and forced the rest to accept a pact (“Dhimma”) which rendered them inferior to their Muslim conquerors. Over the centuries, the ideology of Dhimmitude expanded into a formal system of religious apartheid.

No legal rights. Jews may not testify in court against a Muslim and have no legal right to dispute or challenge anything done to them by Muslims. There is no such thing as a Muslim raping a Jewish woman; there is no such thing as a Muslim murdering a Jew (at most, it can be manslaughter). In contrast, a Jew who strikes a Muslim is killed.

Humiliation and vulnerability. Jews and Christians had to walk around with badges or veils identifying them as Jews or Christians. The yellow star that Jews had wear in Nazi Germany did not originate in Europe. It was borrowed from the Muslim world where it was part of the apartheid system of Dhimmitude.

It wasn’t a tour of duty overseas, but a field trip to Jersey City, just 60 miles down the Hudson River from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

The city of 250,000 is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse places in America, and the West Point cadets are visiting as part of a class at the academy on peacekeeping and reconstruction called “Winning the Peace.” The class ends in a three-day crash course designed to make the future officers — and, ultimately, the soldiers under their command — more sensitive to cultural differences.

All the speakers appear to have been Muslims

The program has taken on new urgency as the Army deals with the fallout from a string of embarrassing episodes in Afghanistan, including reports of U.S. soldiers posing with the bloody remains of suicide bombers, urinating on Afghan corpses and burning Muslim holy books.

During the visit to Jersey City, the 23 cadets in the class stay overnight at a mosque and attend Islamic prayers. They also go to an Egyptian Coptic Christian church, a synagogue and a Hindu religious service, and sample the foods of the cultures they encounter. (Funny, how all the videos only show the mosque visits)

At the Islamic Center of Jersey City, where the cadets stay, program organizer Ahmed Shedeed said the visit to the city is an eye-opener for some students.

I guess the only ‘Koreans’ (woman in middle) the cadets met were Muslims, too?

“Some of these soldiers have never seen anybody different. Some have never seen a black person or eaten Chinese food, and they come to a place like Jersey City and they understand they’re not the only ones in the world, that there are civilizations and cultures that came before theirs,” he said.

Emad Attaalaa of St. George’s Egyptian Coptic Church, where the cadets spent an afternoon learning about the history of the church and enjoyed a Middle Eastern-style lunch, said the program has mutual benefits, getting young people from his largely Egyptian congregation interested in the military or a career in law enforcement.  “Kids in the church come and ask me after meeting the cadets, ‘What do you think about joining the Army?’” he said(Gee, I bet they didn’t hear that from anyone in the Islamic center?)

At the Islamic Center, congregants explained to the cadets the importance of removing their shoes in prayer areas, and the female cadets were shown the proper way to cover themselves with Muslim headscarves out of respect.

Nothing about cultural difference in this video, all about the Prophet Mohammed:

Jersey City sits across the Hudson River from New York. Nearly 40 percent of the population is foreign-born, and more than half its residents speak a language other than English at home, according to census figures. It has a large Muslim population. Some of the plotters of the deadly 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center attended a mosque there.

Col. Cindy Jebb, a social sciences professor at West Point who has taught course on cultural anthropology as well as terrorism and counterterrorism, said the academy is fortunate to have such a melting pot close by.

“When you start to learn about other cultures, it makes you very self-aware, helps create a more adaptable thinker, and it develops empathy,” she said. (Empathy is the last thing you need for people who are trying to kill you)

But they don’t learn about culture, only religion:

Although this year’s visit focused on the Arab Spring uprisings across the Middle East, she said the controversies that have hurt U.S. efforts to gain the trust of Afghans are also discussed with cadets.

“We always use such incidents as a learning opportunity,” Jebb said. “Looking at it in the larger context of understanding that these actions of a few do not reflect the entire military, we discuss why these actions are so detrimental, and how you go about building a tone within a unit of cultural understanding.”

At dinner with the cadets, Muslim women were segregated from men. Only female cadets in headbags were allowed to dine with the male cadets. Muslims were offended.

TAMPA parents win one battle to stop representatives of CAIR from speaking in Tampa public schools

Posted: April 6, 2012 | Author: barenakedislam |

But the war to stop CAIR’s infiltration of schools, public institutions, and government continues…with David Caton of Florida Family leading the charge.

From David Caton, head of floridafamily.org

We need to be clear; we have won the battle for now to stop invitations for CAIR officials to address students in Tampa schools.
Hillsborough County School Board Chair Candy Olson “I think it is highly unlikely that a teacher .. if a teacher chooses to invite a speaker in would invite CAIR right now. They don’t want to be the target of this kind of thing.”
Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 which encouraged supporters to send emails to companies that advertised with The Tampa Tribune because of the paper’s continued bias for CAIR and its impact on the school board in Tampa.

The April 3, 2012 email alert reported on the Hillsborough County School Board’s failure, as we predicted, to adopt policy to prohibit political advocacy groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) from addressing students.  Some supporters thought we lost the battle because a policy was not adopted.

We have won the battle for now.  Florida Family Association wants to make sure that it is clear to our supporters that we have effectively won the challenge to stop CAIR from addressing students for now.  Florida Family Association reported numerous reasons for declaring victory in previous email alerts which are all posted below.  Additionally, Florida Family Association has engaged in the following planned efforts.

Steinbrenner teachers respond to our reward offer.  Florida Family Association received calls from two teachers who are interested in the $1,000 reward that Florida Family Association offered for information regarding future CAIR speaking engagements and $2,000 reward if the information is received more than a week before the engagement date.

It’s a little disturbing,” said Hassan Shibly of the reward from David Caton, inset.

Florida Family Association is placing more pressure on Steinbrenner High School.  IF (and that is a big IF) CAIR is invited back we will organize a protest in front of the school as well as hand out information to parents during several days before and after the speaking engagement.  Additionally, we have inquired with officials at Steinbrenner High School about renting their auditorium to hold a public event which would present the truth about Islamist radical plans for America which include adoption of Sharia law.

Board Chair Candy Olson confirmed Florida Family Association’s assessment during a February 28, 2012 meeting that CAIR officials would not be addressing students anytime in the near future.  She said “I have to tell ya.  I know you don’t like to hear that I trust our teachers.  But I think it is highly unlikely that a teacher .. if a teacher chooses to invite a speaker in would invite CAIR right now.  They don’t want to be the target of this kind of thing.”

Additionally, Board Chair Candy Olson reiterated her conclusion in a news report during a March 30, 2012 workshop “Olson said she believes teachers and administrators at Steinbrenner – or any school – would be hesitant to bring CAIR into the classroom.”

Thanks to your support we have won the battle to stop CAIR from addressing students.

BRAVO to all the courageous, well-informed parents who came armed (with facts) to take on CAIR:

Of course, the liberal media spin on this issue paints quite a different picture.

CL TAMPA  A controversy has been provoked by some of the most notorious conservatives in the county, who have a problem with the board because the leader of the local branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Hassan Shibly, was invited to speak at Steinbrenner High School class in world history last year.

Shibly’s association with CAIR has stoked the anti-Islamic passions of a bloc of Hillsborough residents, led by conservative activists David Caton and Terry Kemple.

Their opposition forced the board on Friday afternoon to hold a workshop on the district’s policy regarding guest speakers in the classroom. The entire board, with the exception of Stacy White, agreed that nothing needed to be changed in the current policy.

                                        SHIBLY, OLSON, CATON

The workshop began with 16-year-old Steinbrenner High sophomore Austin Ransdell testifying about Shibly’s presentation. The teen said Shibly had spoken, among other things, about Muslims’ pilgrimage to Mecca, as well as basic principles of Islam.

Stacy White said he had read in newspaper accounts that Shibly had talked about stereotypes and prejudice against Muslims. Ransdell said that was accurate, that Shibly said there was a perpetuation in the culture of the notion that all Muslims are terrorists. Ransdell said Shibly had said that was false, “and that most of them don’t feel that way.” Olson interjected. “He didn’t say all of them?” referring to the line about Muslims not being terrorists.

White said he took issue with Shibly referring to anti-Muslim stereotypes, and that the only other interaction that Ransdell’s class had had with a different religion happened outside the classroom on a field trip. White said he wanted to be assured that no proselytizing was taking place in the classroom.

Later White added that CAIR had a “cloud of suspicion” lingering over it. The group for many years was considered the biggest mainstream Muslim organization in the U.S., and enjoyed positive relations with elected officials and the FBI. But that perception changed to some extent in 2008, when officials with the FBI said they were no longer “an appropriate liaison partner” because of evidence linking the organization and its founders to Hamas. The FBI’s decision was controversial, and the group still maintains positive relations with many elected officials.

PARENTS AGAINST CAIR came out in droves

With the exception of White, the rest of the board agreed that the rules already in place to deal with guest speakers were sufficient, and board member April Griffin complained that the whole exercise had been a waste of time. Saying she was resentful about the whole discussion, Griffin said shae had been “absolutely insulted over the conversations taking place over the last 12 months, insults comparing people to child molesters and KKK that just crossed a line that I thought was disgusting.”

For good measure Griffin blasted Caton and Kemple as well, and said she didn’t care if that offended anybody. “If I catch some flak for this, so be it. I’ve caught it in the past and its fine.” Olson said she has received a lot of emails about the controversy. Not so much about CAIR per se, she said, as about Sharia law and “all kinds of things that had nothing to do with CAIR.”

She then distributed a brief policy sheet about guest speakers that she was hoping the board could sign off on, but School Board attorney Tom Gonzalez nixed that, saying that a public hearing would have to be set before the amended policies could be established. No doubt that hearing will provide plenty of opportunity for members of the public’s anti-Islamic statements to flourish.

WARNING to PARENTS: CAIR has outposts all over this country. The next public school that will be pressured into allowing a CAIR representative into the classroom to indoctrinate children with a whitewashed version of Islam could be YOURS:
