Our Lord Jesus Christ warned clearly against false prophets and false Christs that would deceive even the very elect if possible. (Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, 12, 24-26). In these last days, wolves and deceivers have infiltrated the Christian Church in more ways than possible. What is worse, is that most of the people of God are asleep to the attack that is occurring, even in the leadership of the Church itself. One of those heresies that has infiltrated the Church is the Islamic heresy of Sufism. Many people do not even know about this, let alone have heard of Sufism, and yet its branches have infiltrated the Church, particularly the Protestants/Evangelicals. In order to understand this, we need to know a little about the teachings and practices of Sufism.
Sufism is an offshoot from the evil heresy of Islam. Unlike their orthodox Muslim counterparts, the Sufis were initially declared heretics by both Sunni and Shia alike. However, the purposes were the same: win people to follow Allah (the Islamic deity). Unlike their counterparts, they adopted the mystical and “benevolent” approach to Islam in order to gain converts. They were initially deemed heretical by orthodox Muslims in its earlier days in the 9th century but eventually became absorbed into the mainstream by the 16th. Nevertheless, the heretical tenets of Islam are still found in Sufism, of not only acknowledging Allah as God and Muhammad as his prophet, but also of seeking to win the world to the rule of Allah.
Historically, it was the Sufis who backed the Islamic armies of Saladin in the Crusades as well as the Mogul armies that ruled India under Islamic rule in the 12th century. So much for the benevolent face, when push came to shove, the Islamic enemy showed its “benevolence” via forced conversions and slaughter of non-Muslims. The ones who were leading the way for this was none other than the Sufis themselves. Even to this day, Sufis are also leading the way for disarming the West and bringing forth the Al-Mahdi and jihad on non-Muslims. Just a few years ago, a Sufi holy man was asked to give a talk to a huge audience in Turkey, courtesy of the current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his predecessor, Abdullah Gul. In this talk, this Sufi imam urged the youth to rise up and build the glories of Islam and bring the West to her knees. Even today in America, one of the leading men who signed the shameful document of “agreement” between Christians and Muslims, (of which that shameful wolf, Rick Warren, had a part), was none other than a Sufi imam, Sheikh Hisham Kabbani. This imam stated that when the “Prophet Isa” (Islam’s “Jesus”) returns, he will smash the cross and kill the pig, and will give the Christians and Jews a choice to convert to Islam or be executed.
Despite this, due to the infiltration of Sufism in the churches, few really know of its danger and worse, believe that they are being spiritual and “good Christians” by practicing some of the following practices and dangerous ideas that have a Sufi origin. Amongst these are:
1) Overemphasis on the “sovereignty of God” and overemphasis on “relationship with God” to the point of neglecting weightier matters of the law that will cause people to sin greatly-Sufis were known for their overemphasis in teaching on the “love of Allah” and the “will of Allah” to the point where all sins were at best either tolerated or at worst condoned. Is it no wonder therefore, that Sufis were known for their sexual deviancy along with other evils, all in the name of the above. What is worse, is that a number of Christian churches, particularly in Protestant/Evangelical circles, have swallowed this satanic deception hook, line and sinker. How many times do we hear in these Evangelical churches the overemphasis on the “sovereignty of God” and “personal relationship with God” to the point where preaching against evil and fighting evil is either frowned upon or ignored? Is it no wonder also that as a result, sodomites have run rampant in the ranks of the church, along with godless governments coming into existence, not to mention all manner of Christ-denying, Scripture denying heresies being tolerated and promoted, due to this Sufi attitude?
2) Abuse of the “grace of God” and His forgiveness, to the point of evil behaviour and sinfulness being tolerated in the church and nation-Sufis were known for their overemphasis again on the “love of Allah” and the “grace of Allah”. This was done to the extent of not only tolerating evil and sinfulness, but also to the point of telling their followers to do nothing about evil in this world. Worse of all, the Christian churches have bought it and have used the grace mantra: “It is all about grace, not works, therefore let things be. We cannot change anything.” As a result, sin is not only tolerated, it is even promoted as a sign of “progress” in the churches. This is the very thing that the Blessed Apostles warned against. “For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as servants of God.” (I Peter 2:15, 16). St. Jude, brother of St. James (the son of Alphaeus. See Acts 1:13), had this to say regarding such godless teachers and their teaching: “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Jude 1:3) Notice a hallmark of these evil men: a) they creep in unawares. b) they are on their way to hell (ordained to condemnation) and are ungodly. c) They turn the grace of God into lasciviousness or lust for evil and worldly things. d) They deny the Deity of Christ. (Denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ). These fit the Muslim doctrine and their followers to a T. Worse of all, is that a number of Evangelicals have followed in these footsteps, either directly or indirectly. Let us not forget that it was that godless Martin Luther that taught his followers in his letters and commentaries: “To be a sinner and sin boldly.” This same Luther misused the grace of God for evil to the point of blasphemously wanting to remove certain books of Holy Scripture, since it went against his false doctrine, particularly the Epistle of James and then went so far as to accuse Christ of committing sin with the Samaritan woman at the well (Photini in Holy Tradition). As a result of this, despite his knowledge of the evils of Islam in denying Christ, he went so far as to collaborate with the Ottomans to seek the overthrow of the German Kingdoms, and encouraged his followers to do so.
These Sufi-minded Christians will then retort by referring to Ephesians 2:8 and 9, which refers to salvation by grace through faith, but never bother to seriously consider the following verse after that which clearly teaches good works as part and parcel of the grace of God, as much as faith is: “For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) Grace consists of both faith in the True God and good works from His Spirit! The only time that the Holy Scripture uses the terms of “faith alone”, as these deceived souls teach, is as a rebuke in James 2:17: “Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone.” God does not just expect us to “have faith alone” but also to strive in it for good. Many times in Holy Scripture, striving for the good of God is advocated, as opposed to the evil in this world. We are in a spiritual warfare! (Ephesians 6:10-18) This is something the Sufi-minded Christians do not wish to hear about since they have been so neutralized towards absolute good and evil.
3) Obsession with dancing and music to enter into a state of “holiness” and “ecstasy” with God- One of the most well renowned Sufi traits was their dancing and music. Endless are the tales of the Sufi dervishes who dance to music to enter that state whilst reciting all the 99 names of Allah at the same time. This is exactly the situation with most churches today. They allowed godless rock music and godless dance forms from godless celebrities to enter the church to the point of making it appear as if it is holy with Christian words. Centuries ago, Christian churches would barely tolerate worldly music being used as part of worship. Sadly, die to apostasy occurring in churches, the reverse is occurring and as a result, we have a generation of shallow-minded, Scripturally bankrupt Christians, who think that they have become more “spiritual” and “holy” because they listen to such music and perform in such a manner, which is no different from these godless celebrities. The worst culprits being within the Evangelical churches, and even the Pentecostal/charismatic churches. (This is even more tragic, since in the early days of Holy Spirit renewal in Pentecostal/charismatic churches, the pastors would resist this evil very strongly. This generation has slighted their spiritual forbears).
These Sufi-minded Christians would defend the godless rock celebrities more than they would the Word of God, when under attack. Even if some godless celebrity whom they revere along with the world has blasphemed Christ our God and maligned all that is holy in Scripture, they would die for them rather than for Christ. Is this not tragic enough? To make matters worse is to hear these people believe that they are more “grace-filled” and “spiritual” for acting exactly like their Islamic counterparts. Lord have mercy!
4) Neglect of doctrine and weightier matters in the name of grace and sovereignty of God- This is exactly what Sufism advocated. Sufi masters were known for putting everything down to the “will of Allah” and the “grace of Allah”, to the point of neglecting some serious matters occurring in the moral and governmental sphere. This is something that our Lord Jesus Christ rebuked strongly when He castigated the Pharisees. Whilst acknowledging their rightness in observing the various tithes in the Tenach (Old Testament), He castigated them for having: “omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” (Matthew 23:23) As a result of this, Christians today have become apathetic to both doctrine and weightier matters of the law, of judgment, mercy and faith. Is it no wonder therefore, that we have godless governments and leaders, and to see the innocent suffer whilst the wicked get away with murder, quite literally at that too?! These Sufi-minded Christians are so obsessed with the technicalities of “salvation by grace through faith”, that they neglect what Holy Scripture had to teach regarding just and godly governmental rule as well as other doctrines that would also impact their future too. Without going into too much depth based on space and time, due to the neutralizing of doctrine and morality with this Sufi mentality, a number of Christians are uncertain as to what to vote for when elections come; uncertain about the origins of man despite clear evidence in Genesis (which they neglect); uncertain about eschatology and last things relating to our Lord’s return (despite many clear teachings in Scripture of its literalness in both the Tenach/Old Testament and the final book of Holy Scripture, the Apocalypse/Revelation); uncertain about morality, especially in the realm of sexuality and in short, uncertain even about Christ Himself and His uniqueness in the Salvation of mankind. All this is due to this Sufi mentality infiltrating the Church of God, which is supposed to be the “pillar and ground of truth” (I Timothy 3:15).
THE NET RESULT: The formation of the one-world, new world order of the Antichrist is on the way and these Sufi-minded Christians have been running head-long into it. This should have been obvious for those who genuinely bothered to study the Word of God, but instead, we have an extremely deluded generation of “My people love to have it so” Christians (Jeremiah 5:31) that will end up worshipping and bowing to the image of the Antichrist as well as accepting his mark, when he finally enters the scene. (Revelation 13:14-18) This has already come underway not only with the godless World Council of Churches, but also with godless leaders such as Rick Warren promoting “Chrislam”, which is a gross mockery of the Christian Faith, in its attempt to unite it with that godless religion of Satan, Islam.
God gave the solution to Christians regarding godly leaders in government, but many have refused to investigate it due to the delusion of “separation of church and state” combined with the Sufi mentality mentioned above. The solution is found in the last words of King David, whereby the whole of the Holy Trinity (“The Spirit of the LORD, The God of Israel, The Rock of Israel”) tells David these words to Solomon: “He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” (II Samuel 23:3) and also gives the requirements of a just ruler in both Exodus 18:20-23 and in Romans 13:1-7. On one hand, one could refer to prophecy and last things as an excuse for apathy, or on the other hand, we accept prophecy and last things, but also become motivated to act justly before God so that we may receive our rewards in heaven rather than earth and to hear our Lord Jesus Christ tell us: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou in the joy of thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:21). The Great Commission in Matthew 28: 18-20, does not just tell us to preach the gospel to every creature and make disciples of every nation as well as baptizing them, but also tells us to: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:20). Christ has given a lot of teaching on various matters, not only in the New Testament but also in the Tenach too, since He is also the Jehovah of the Old Testament too.
Christians, wake up! Get out of this Sufi spell and awake to righteousness or else you will end up worshipping the Al-Mahdi of Islam-the Antichrist of Revelation/Apocalypse. Let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4). Do not be on the bandwagon of apostasy and the Chrislam-Emergent Church movement. Instead, go to Christ and His Way and Vehicle of Salvation. It will be a long, difficult road, but Christ our God will never leave us alone if we choose to walk in His road.
